I decided to reinstall. I know easy way out but i just got tired of dealing with it. Next time i want to play with applets i will do a backup first.

I tried changing computer names. didnt work.

The guest account does not have to be enabled with simple file sharing. XP Pro does not however let you use blank passwords by default, so that could have been the conflict, which can be chaged via group policies.

If these PC's are all XP Pro and Server 2k3, why you would want to use simple file sharing is beyond me.

i was running the server as a fileserver all computers had passwords. And guest account was active.
