cant run search?

hi guys/gals...

im using windows xp sp1 and now i cant run the search. you know where u go to start button/search (duh!) yea...i cant enable it even if i go to the taskbar and add it to the start button. ive tried to even add it top the menu button in windows explorer where the "cut,copy,paste"is...and i click it onthing happens...how do u enable it...is it somewhre in services.msc...need help its so annoyin if i cant search for files...thx

Try this

Click > Start > Run

type: sessmgr -service

Restart ws and see what happens

Check this registry key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\

if there is an entry NoFind and it has the value 1, change it to 0 or delete it.
