In my "Folder Options" I modified the "file type" for my "file folder", I edited the "file type" and now I have some entries that I dont want but I cant delete any of them and I also do not know the command line to make the "file folder" open in the same window.

I have admin rights on xp and changing the option to open in the same window on the "General" tab doesnt change anything.

    Please Help !

    Thanks !

ok..You probably weren't aware if this but it is "bad" per se to change any default file type action or icon using the folder options default types I mean stuff like File Folder, Drive..etc...for icon changes to those, modify your shell32.dll

try doing this to set everything back to default.. go into regedit and modify these keys

Hkey_classes_root\drive\shell Change the values listed to none

    do the same for Hkey_classes_root\directory\shell

that should help get everything straightened out again..but backup reg just incase

    I appreciate that but ...

I have done that a million times but then you werent aware of that.

The thing that got me was the fact that I couldnt manipulate (delete, edit) the additions I added, weird.

    anyway thanks ....

Cool, that cleared out those annoying extra entries, now do you know the command line to make the folders open in the same window, instead of opening a new one each time ?

Yes, I know of the option in folder options -> general, but it doesnt change anything.

    Thanks Again ....
