Cannot renew Ip address..limited or no connectivity

    ok, for some weird reason i get this error now with my inter net, i cant use my wireless lan card or even connect straight to with the normal networking cable...its on my laptop..its win xp pro sp2..any ideas??

    When using the cable, are you trying to connect directly to the modem? That's one way of finding out if it's your router or the ISP.

    Have you tried release/renew through the command prompt? ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew

    well i found thisa

    Go to --> start
    Go to --> run
    Type --> CMD
    Type --> netsh winsock reset

    Note - This command only works under SP2


    and it worked..thanks though..

    Ahh, you had a winsock problem... how did you figure that out?

    well i did whati should have done, searche dthe wbsite..and a post had ccome up about renewing an ip address...so i said.."meh" and tried it..and it works great..
