Cannot open up Homepage in IE

Hi Guys,

I am trying to figure out why I cannot open up my personnal Homepage with my laptop's IE. It is loaded with XPPro.

I can open the homepage with Firefox installed in the laptop.

I can open my homepage in IE and firefox in every other machine that I try.

I can go directly to my forums page from the same IE in the laptop. There is a link to the forums from the homepage.

I have looked at the settings in this laptop's IE, but I cannot figure out why it doesn't load.


Any ideas?

Does the Laptop have Active X or any other "security threat" feature disabled? Check under IE tools-internet options-advanced. There are a lot of options there and some could prevent the page from loading.

The simpler approach, where you won't have to dig through all the settings is: go to IE tools-internet options-security and set the internet for minimal security. Reboot and try again. Don't leave it at this level too long. If the homepage works look for which advanced settings are more restrictive at your normal security level.

This could also be a site on the blocked site list go to Intenet options> privacy click on the sites button and check if the site is on the list, If it is you can remove it from the block list or allow it.

You can try resetting your web settings or trying another user profile. Security settings related to web browsing are profile specific ( I think)

Well, I tried everything, still no go. This is strange.

I have no idea why my laptop's IE will not pull up my homepage.

Maybe try a "ipconfig/flushdns" from a command prompt.

Are their any errors?
