"Cannot find server" in IE 6

I am having a problem with IE 6 which came with my XP home. I am using dial-up internet with a 56.6k modem. When trying to load pages I often get a "Cannot find server" error and the page doesnt load. I refresh the page and it will load.

Any Ideas?

Try to delete your temporary internet files, cookies, & i-net history.

if your ISP is behind a firewall then you might ask it for a proxy and its port.

This is most likely a problem with your ISP - unless you have messed around with your protocol settings or used software that modifies your MTU settings - like download accelerators.
