Sony is trying to suceed where so many others have failed.. create a e-book reader that people will actually use other print.

Personally, I don't see it happening.

*plus* I wonder what Sony will do then for DRM for books.. I liked this quote from the article:

In 2004, Sony launched an e-book reader in Japan that also failed to take off. Called the Librie, it won plaudits for design, but its high price and draconian antipiracy technology -- users could only "rent" books from Sony for 60 days before the tomes deleted themselves -- scared off consumers.

<sarcasm>
Sony? Scare off consumers with draconian antipiracy technology? Never!

If I'm reading for leisure, I personally still prefer a nice, hardbound book. :)
Reading a good novel on a screen just doesn't offer the same kind of experience, in my opinion.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
