Can I Rename?

I have just managed to change the user name of a previous user to my own quite successfully.

I have now stumbled across another folder in:

c: > documents and settings

with the previous occupiers name all over it.

When I tried to rename the file, a message proclaimed that this was a 'Windows System File and cannot be renamed'.

Could anybody tell me if there is a way around this problem?
It's gonna bug me otherwise. All I need to do is change his name to mine....

Thanks

um why don't you just create your own acct on the comp and delete that one? makes no sense to try and rename the acct

Just do what he said. Change your account...make a backup of anythhing you want to keep though that is in the folders with the old user name.

Yep, fare enough, I appreciate that...

But wouldn't I lose the programs that have been installed under his username??

There's a few bits and bobs on here that I would like to keep.

or am I making things more complicated than they actually are?

Thanks for the help though.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
