I did a fresh install of XP on my dads pc at his house...

He never used it because I hadnt installed any programs so there wasnt anything for him to do on there...

Then I come back a week later (last night) because broadband has now been activated on his line. install the bt software, set up modem etc.

Then i install norton 2004 and well bugger me backwards! it has a virus on the pc and is full of worms! norton failed to get rid of it, even tho the virus let me install norton and update it all!

hehe anyway, going back tonight to wipe it all and start again! this time gonna put norton on as soon as i install xp! learn a lesson everyday!

Last time I reinstalled window's as soon as I reconnected to the net I got the bloody Blaster virus
These things are there as soon as you connect to the net just waiting to attack you :D

If you ask me that'll be the lack of the MSBlast patch as much as the lack of AV - would recommend getting that into your XP slipstream also...

Yeah, if you install anything older than SP2 and connect it to the network before patching you will be infected by blaster.

:) I usually install NAV before I set up my network drivers just so I am protected.
