    Hi,
    every time when I turn on my computer it says:
    "Boot.ini has mistakes.
    Loading from c:\windows\"
    Checking out boot.ini I do not find anything written in it.
    There are the options: /safeboot /Noguiboot /bootlog /basevideo /SOS /Minimal /Network /DSrepair. Must I click one of them? Must I write something in the window above?
    Thanks for help! :cool:

    yup...

    sure enough it's empty. try putting this into it:

    [boot loader]
    timeout=10
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

    This one works for XP Pro. If you have home edition, not sure if you just change Professional to Home or not

    yep just cut and past what hilander put in his post:

    [boot loader]
    timeout=10
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW
    S
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

    You can change the professional to HOME. Anything in the qoutes is just what will show op on boot. not a big deal.

    actually if you have any problems, i attached my boot.ini file. Just make sure and change the file extention from boot.ini.txt to boot.ini

    then copy it to c:\

    that should work..
