Hi
I've changed my ram on the motherboard (a Gigabyte 7iex4) to 2x 128Mb and 1x64 Mb (all PC100). The bios picks this up properly, but windows still reports the old amount, 256Mb. Any ideas?

No, it's not. I used to have 1 x 128Mb and 2 x 64Mb SDram, I now have 2 x 128Mb and 1 x 64Mb. The memory check in POST is ok (even a full check) but Windows XP still reports 256 Mb.

I'm not sure what the problem could be. You might try swapping the sticks around into different configurations like 64-128-128; 128-64-128, etc. just to see if XP will pick it up. You might check the compatability list to see if that 64mb chip is supported or not - it looks like that's the one XP finds distasteful.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
