Bios problem ASUS P4S800D

if you haven't already installed the device drivers for your RAID controllers (both p-ata and s-ata) certainly do install them...

a way to test your theory would be if you have a regular hard-drive with windows or some other operating system installed...

if you can get that simply go into bios and disable the s-ata/raid controllers and then boot... if it boots right into windows (or whatever o/s you choose) it indeed is the problem :)

else you can just seek to install the appropriate drivers for the raid controller and see if that fixes things...

it might well be the object not setup right luish :) and the floppy with the device drivers should have come with your motherboard...

try it out and see what happens...

the way to install the drivers is @ boot up... again this should be present in your user-manual...

enable the controller (which you seem to have done already) and then press the required key sequence to install devices (I have to press F10 or something on my board for some drivers) and then install the drivers for the controller as prompted...

Can it be that I am currently using the ide drive a master. (xp on it)

and the s-ata not os drive?

I dont follow?

you are not using the s-ata controller?

in that case just disable it in the bios...

Ok, this is what I did..

I wanted to install xp on the s-ata drive... but the xp install raid disk didn't work, so i install xp on the ide, then created a new raid drivers disk then i formatted the ide drive, i took of the ide cable, install xp on the s-ata drive without any problems and now i am going to install back the ide drive..

Somehow that was the solution for the post problem...

Now everything works but I got to install everything again..

:(

well glad you got it sorted out :) finally..

congrats..

It is better sometime than never...

Now i need to tweak...

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
