After installation of DivX make sure you kill the trickler proces which is running in the
background, then run AdAware (can be found at www.lavasoftusa.com) with their latest
referencefile and let it remove all spyware, delete the "gain_trickler" file in the divx folder as well, except for the registry-key
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{21FFB6C0-0DA1-11D5-A9D5-00500413153C}. This key
is the only thing DivX 5.0 Pro checks to see if the adware is still installed... so without the
adware and just this key in the registry, DivX 5.0 Pro will think its adware is still installed!
Then you've got an adware-free system with a fully functional DivX 5.0 Pro.
