I have used all of them at some point, and they all had their good points. I grew out of yahoo, lost track of people on AIM and I was directed towards IRC which is where I am most of the day, for this poll though, I'm going with Messenger (the ad free Xp one)

For an IM Client its gotta be Windows Messenger, no adverts, does the job nicely. I used to use ICQ but all the pron spam gets annoying after a while 
I just use IRC now MUCH better than any IM client available.
