By default microsoft prevent the opening of attachments to e-mails. This can be got around in Outlook Express by removing the tick from the Do not allow attachments option. I cannot find a similar option in Outlook. Is this option available in Outlook?

Its never a good idea to turn off the security on Outlook but a suggestion would be to have the person sending you a file should zip it up. This way you know for sure that its not a trojan or other rogue program sending itself to you. But its up to you.

Thanks for the info. It was a small software programme I was trying to send. It did send it in the finish, but the receiver couldn't open it. I'll try the winzip option next time. This time I just copied it to a floppy and gave it to him.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
