To anyone that doesn't read the release notes before installing you may wanna if you have SP2.

    Thank you Teddy ;)
How do I remove 4.8 the cleanest way ? Catuninstaller, DriverCleaner ?

I think ATI say to go to add/remove then

    1/ Remove Control Panel

    2/ Remove Driver

    3/Remove software

    Don't reboot untill after #3.

    OR

Just load it over the top. :D

Did you grab the driver with the new control panel included? Looks great.

Thanks Hipster Doofus, I'll try the 1st solution if that's the best thing to...

Last time I upgraded 'over the top', I think it ended with an issue with my monitor (auto degauss 4-5 times an hour). I solved this annoying issue with a complete reinstallation of XP. :(

bleh - my download keeps stalling at various stages - 3rd try here I go....

[EDIT] and on fourth try cannot even access ATI site! must be badnwidth issues with everyone wanting their drivers and new CC - me decides to wait awhile, at least until I feel the need for UT2004! [/EDIT]

yeah I believe the directions also are in a readme and show up in the long browsable "I agree" T&C box - so they are prety hard to miss!
