oy mate... I don't mean to sound mean and stuff..

but when someone offers a suggestion... don't just brush it off...

if you let us know what you have and we OFFER a free solution we are not going to be right... its a possibility thats all...

I was taking exception to some of the comments you made... seeming to be a bit impatient with us..

but trust me there are a lot of guys in this forum who know enough to help you out..

besides it seems as though you are going to have th problem solved with your friend fixing it... so g.luck

It seems the heat issue has been covered, so I'll just say the "funky" errors you're xp-eriencing may be the RAM. Is it samsung brand by any chance? I have seen similiar issues with using samsung RAM and asus boards. (a7m266 to be exact)
If I'm not mistaken, that's been cured by a BIOS update though.

Did you try reformatting and reinstalling WinXP? It sounds like it's a Windows problem seeing as you can get the computer to post, but you can't get into windows.

Look in your bios and select manual settings ?
See what it says then and alter it acordingly!

If that dont cure your prob?
Look at your jumper settings and make sure the set to
jumper mode?Thats unless you want to over clock it.
