I read somewhere that Windows utilizes its shared files, using SMB, to keep logs of other PCs on your network, such as your workgroup computers. Meaning. If you have 2 or more PCs connectd on a LAN, each one keeps track of each other's internet browsing activities, files downloaded, etc.

I would think, however, that some sort of application would have to be running in order to do this, not to mention it would generate of network traffic, etc.

I know there are plenty of 3rd party software that would allow you to do this, but I woudln't think windows would do it automatically. As far as I have read, internet cache etc are for the local machine.

Thanks in advance, have had some really good responses here and i appreciate the info!

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
