ok when i hook up a volcano 5 to my 2100+ i get idle temps about 43-45c, and 49-50 at load......this is saving my ears from the volcano 7's noisey #$$ fan.... but are these temps too high?

with the volcano 7 i would get anywhere from 40-42c idle, 46-48 load....

mabey you guys can post what temps you get and/or what u guys consider a good idle and load for a 2100+

Those temps are what I get with the HSF supplied in the 2000+ retail package.

With heatsink receiving air directly from AC duct, i get around 35-idle and 42 load. With no direct airfolw from AC duct I get around 39 idle and 50 load.

However the noise sometimes get to me, so I usually don't keep my heatsink at full power.

BTW: I didn't use any artic silver, anyone know how much more my temps would drop if i did?

the highest i've ever seen mine is 50, but mostly upper-40's under load, which is fine. just don't let it get above 50 that much.

That's not a reason to get worry , temperatures are fine for that CPU type . Risks are above 60 degrees ..

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
