What do you think of AMD DURON?
I said I would never touch an AMD but I got a 900 duron cheap and was so impressed with it I now have an Athlon xp and love it.
i got a athlon myself, however, i built a machine for my bro consisting of a duron 800.
i sometimes feel i could have done with a duron as its so darn stable.
im very pleased of it, and no matter what people think of duron (cheapy amd's) they are very stable.... and not just for small usage either.
I think if you're on a budget, i would go for duron.
heck, even if you have money, go for a duron and spend the extra ££$$ on a graphics or sound card heh.
after having several intel proceors in my systems over the years I have come to the conclusion that they suck I wish they would crawl under a rock and die they are buggy as hell and ont over clock very well. Got a duron now only a 750 but o/c to 850 with just a normal h/sink and fan only a few degrees hotter and no stabilaty problemscan have it running for days without a break doing heavy stuff like debugging and compiling. So my thoughts are AMD king of the castle intel the dirty rascle.
LONG LIVE AMD
i wouldn't even think about building a pc without AMD!
amd xp's are the proff that p4's are just a ripoff cause a 1800+ is equal to a p4 1.8ghz and the amd is only like 1.5ghz like come on its that easy to see that p4's are sh*tty overpriced pieces of junk. they are big in numbers but sh*t for performance!!
