I wouldn't waste the money on the 2400. I would either go with the 2800+ or wait till the next gen comes out. But if you not liking that answer I would say the 2400 Barton.

either should net you around the same performance...

the 100 difference in the PR rating is not that big :)

buy whats in your budget... and buy better memory with the savings... :)

I would get any core that runs at 333MHz so you can run it in sync with your pc2700 ram. Im gonna order a 2500 tommorrow.

if I were you I'd get the xp2700. I read some articles and it seems that the 2700 out did the 2500 barton by a ton. Besides, it's only an extra 40 bucks to get the XP2700 over the 2500 on pircewatch.

If anything, i f you want real power out of a barton, get a xp3000 barton. Of course, that's about 500 dollars...

The barton core overclocks better than the other cores.
Don't waste your money on a 2800+ or a 3000+, on about 3 OCing forums I frequent I've seen the 2500+ OC the same as the 2800+ and the 3000+. They are the same chip, just different names.

You can get the asus motherboard for a lot cheaper than that (about 50 dollars cheaper). It's supposed to retail for 140, I think, but don't quote me on that.

You don't need the pc3200 ram its really a waste. Stick to pc2700 because its 333mhz like the FSB so they run synchronously.
