AGP 8x Card in AGP 4x slot?

You can put an 8x card in a 4x slot right? I'm planning to buy a 5600 Ultra for my sister's PC ... and I'm not having any luck with finding a good 4x card for her.

yes agp is backwards compatable so 4x will work fine w/ a 8x agp slot

The card is 8x and the slot is 4x. I'm just trying to make sure ... even though this question is probably asking someone to tell me the obvious that "8x cards can be used on 4x slots".

Well just to confirm I have a GF4 4200 that is 8x And my mobo is 4x and it works great. not 8x but as good as it can get on 4x

It'll work.. I have an 8X card in a 4X slot too.
