I was tweaking my computer until it stopped working, and had to do a system restore. Now there are some programs that I've removed that still show up on the list in the "Add or remove programs" of control panel. How can I clean up that list to remove items that have already been deleted?

    H_K_L_M / Software / Microsoft / Windows / Current Version / Uninstall

Delete the entries that no longer exist

OR Use a tweaking program (tweakui or x-setup for example)

OR Try to delete the program from Add / Remove. It should tell you the program can't be found and ask if you want to remove the entry from Add / Remove.

I don't think that TweakUI for XP has an option to clean up the list. (TweakUI for Win98 did). I'll try the registry.

You may be right. X-setup does however. You really should download it if you don't already have it - most comprehensive tweaking utility available (and it's free. It's put out by xteq software.
