Active Desktop problem

I've been trying to do something similar to madmatt's dtop but when i went to add the html to the dtop my wallpaper disappeared and the html didn't show up. I tried adding a picture to the dtop and the same thing happened.
The above works fine in ME, just not XP. Any ideas, what could be wrong?
 
You would need to make the background image apart of your HTML document, i.e. <body background="FILE">
 
Tried that, still no good, even when there's no background.
 
Just in case anyone was wondering, I found the problem. It seems that unchecking 'Show Desktop Icons' has cleared up my little problem.
 
Really? Now that is truly weird. And here I thought that I would have to code up some VBSCRIPT/ActiveX to make it work correctly. Glad you got it.
