A wildcard of 0.0.0.0 means that the entire IP address must be examined
A wildcard of 255.255.255.255 means that the entire IP address will not be examined

Likewise, if you want to filter all hosts in a subnet that uses subnet mask 255.255.252.0, the wildcard mask 0.0.3.255 matches the network and subnet bits.

    Get it?
So if you want to filter out all hosts on 255.255.255.0 subnet, the wildcard mask is 0.0.0.255.
