hello.in the i386 folder am i correct in saying that the NTOSKRNL.EX file,is the ntoskrnl.exe file but is in a compressed format.why i ask is i am wanting to change the boot screen, using booteditor.i have the screen ready to go,other than going into safe mode & copying the file to c\windows\system32.if it gets borked for some reason,i would need to use recovery console to copy the file from within the i386 folder over to system32.will this file be automatically decompressed or is there a specific switch i need to enter on the command line,to do that.
thnx for your help

for changing your bootscreen then use the proggie bootxp. Its very simple.

i appreciate the tip about bootxp, but my ? is about copying over the ntoskrnl file from the i386 folder, back to c\win\system32 if something happens with the modded one

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
