when i hook my xbox up to my computer (through 2nd NIC) and enable the card it drops me from the internet (NIC1).

    my settings are:
    NIC 1:
    auto detect

    NIC 2:
    ip add - 192.168.254.100
    subnet - 255.255.255.0
    gateway- 192.168.254.100

    DNS - 192.168.254.115

if i set NIC1 up, how do i make it so it doesn't drop me?

i could be way off on this, but i'll take a guess and say you need to connect your xbox directly into the cable modem or to a router in order to play online.

I guess enabling ICS on NIC1 would be the easiest way. This way you'd get dhcp to the xbox (it supports that, right?) and solve the problem you had. You also get the "bonus" internet connection for the xbox, even if you don't want it. ;)
