Nvidia is planning to release their next generation GPU, the GT300, in the first quarter of the next year. This GPU will be the succesor of the current GT200 series.

Nvidia is also planning to show at CES 2009 two new GT200 based cards. They will feature imporved clock speeds and reduced power consumption.

All these chips will be manufactured under a 55nm process.

How much it is going to set me back? As is there high end card are for the rich and the extreme games, i'd like to see one of them accidently fall off a truck cause i could never imagine a computer with one of those.

hehe.. the last time i had something really high end was when the geforce 2 pro came out

last high end thing I had was geforce 8800gtx I gave it to my brother since it didn't support hdtv resizing so it was chopping off subtitles from all my anime stuff

Have an 8800GT in there at the moment and all is good

8800gt is the same i have now.. not the highest end, but pretty darn good

Same here, have the 8800GT currently, was getting the GTX280 or 4870X2 after Christmas, but if there are new ones coming I might wait (well there are always new ones coming, but thats sooner then later).
