Was just perusing my rejected mail log and came upon this:

Feb 2 00:38:56 reaper postfix/smtpd[30895]: NOQUEUE: reject_warning: RCPT from
unknown[70.84.96.188]: 550 Client host rejected: cannot find your hostname, [70.
84.96.188]; from=<xxxxxxxxxx@osnn.net> to=<m.napper@digital-euphoria.net> pr
oto=SMTP helo=<cryptic.osnn.net>

someone needs to make 70.84.96.188 reverse to cryptic.osnn.net not 188.70-84-96.reverse.theplanet.com :D

Someone needs to set postfix to not deny just because it is not set to mail.osnn.net yet.

Soon it will start sending from mail.osnn.net with proper RDNS, but until the blokes at theplanet get it set up, i can't do anything about it.

I have made a change to your post as I am trying to reduce the amount of spam I get, well its worth a go :p

editing posts wont help EP, you need to stop signing up to all those "free offers" and pr0n :p

mailexchange.osnn.net correctly resolves to 70.84.96.188

and 70.84.96.188 resolves to mailexchange.osnn.net

is that good?
means some mailservers wont deny mail from you cause the reverse dns of the mailserver doesnt match the domain the email is being sent from. Truthfully though most just complain if they cant find any reverse dns but some are more finiky than others

Code:
cryptic# nslookup 70.84.96.188
Server: 127.0.0.1
Address: 127.0.0.1#53

Non-authoritative answer:
188.96.84.70.in-addr.arpa name = mailexchange.osnn.net.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
