swear filter edit request

is there any chance of having a couple words edited out of the filter ?

1st word : - I wanted to put my stats in my sig but the web address contains a banned word
" Bee hAy eS Tea hAy aRe Dee "
http://www.bandof*******s.com

2nd word : - quite often we see a favourite game section & I cant post them
because they contain the word " Cee Oh Oh heN "
RollerCoaster Ty****
Casino Ty****
Zoo Ty****
ect.

since when has c00n been a banned word feks sake sort the bleedin filters :@ this is almost as bad as gimp being banned.

and bàstard is in the dictionary, do i have to explain the meaning for all those who think it's a swear word, that nice woman who taught me english explained all this to me when i was like 12.....

They are both offensive words. Depends how you perceive them. I don't find the word f**k offensive, yet others do. Another example would be the name Dick, it's a persons name, yet can still be used in slang terms to demean someone.

I agree co0n should be uncensored, for the reasons mentioned in the first post. Not sure on b-stard though..

They are both offensive words

the words are only offensive when the person using them is trying to be offensive

in these circumstance IMHO they should be legitimate

Up to EP on those. I agreed with gimp but as you said, co0n, if used improperly, can be quite nasty. As for b@stard, doesn't matter to me one way or the other.

GoNz0, you need to chill out. The filters are in place for a reason (I think gimp was a mistake) and won't be changed unless members can show it messes up posting and or news posts... like 2zee did

at the end of the day if someone wants to get there point across using swear words there going to do it, hence me not really seeing the point in having filters unless someone is going to add all variations of said words, teh filters are ****

And such posts will be edited. DO NOT try to circumvent the swear filter. If and Admin decides such words are allowed then fine. Until then read the rules and show some restraint

if there are words that are being blocked that are innocent such as gimp and so on... the admins will try and rectify the issue...

circumventing the swear filter has never been condoned otoh and it is quite easy to get one's point across w/o resorting to swearing

otoh if you feel teh urge to let loose your full vocabulary... join us on the IRC channel and lets have a go at it

I can't beleve that T y c o o n in the game name Roller Coaster T y c o o n is blocked by the filter! Is there someway that you can set the filter that c o o n is only blocked when it's not part of another word?
