    Geforce 8800 GTX/GTS Launched

The prices here in Australia are getting slightly insane... Asus 8800GTX's are fetching up to $1300 - about 30% more than the 7900GTX ever was, or indeed the 7950GX2...was feeling good about my new 7950GT till I found out the 8800's are more than twice as fast :O

    Geforce 7950GT 512 vs Ati X1950XT 256

Yeh, I ended up taking the 512MB 7950GT. From what I read, games like Oblivion and Doom 3 use >256 on Ultra-High quality, which I look forward to using, and I also heard that the X1950XT has an older, much noiser cooler (compared to the apparently excellent one on the XTX). Didn't quite have the...

    Geforce 7950GT 512 vs Ati X1950XT 256

Hey ppl, Im putting together a new PC for myself for a great variety of uses, and I'm deciding between the Nvidia Geforce 7950GT 512MB (Leadtek) and the ATi X1950XT 256MB (Powercolor), which are both in the same price range for me (~AU$450-500). I know that the ATi is roughly 10-15% faster in...

    nVidia FX 5200 problem

Make sure that you haven't got any bent pins on the VGA cable you are using - if one of the pins are bent, there is a fair chance its not supplying the correct colour information.

Windows Vista Build 5472 on Microsoft Connect

Well this build is quite a bit quicker than Beta 2 was on my ageing system. However, Aero was turned off by default (even though my 9600pro ran it fine before), however turning it on causes the computer to hang any time you do something remotely taxing video wise (for example, if you click to...

Why is there a 32-bit version of Vista?

I can see a similar problem brewing here as currently exists with XP though. Say at the beginning, the uptake of Vista is 75% 32-bit and 25% 64-bit. A lot of smaller manufacturers, and those who don't particularly care about higher-end users (no names) will just say "I will just develop 32-bit...

Windows XP Pro Network Connections Issue

Can you send a post of it 'dimmed'? There are a few things you can try. If you don't have an icon for the particular network connection in your system tray, unplug the network cable from the wall, and then "Network Cable Unplugged" should come up and you will be able to access the network...

Why is there a 32-bit version of Vista?

Do you think there is a large number of corporations intending to upgrade to Vista without upgrading their hardware?

Why is there a 32-bit version of Vista?

With all the recent extensive delays in the development of Windows Vista, and growing concern at what compelling new features it will offer over the ageing XP, it strikes me as a suprise that Microsoft hasn't dropped support for 32-bit processors with Windows Vista. Think of it this way, if...

Strange (and infuriating) Word 2003 problem

Never mind - I believe i have fixed the problem. It seems I had "Automatically Updated" set in the options for the "Normal" Style - therefore, whenever I was using Normal to write and changed the style, it would update the entire document.

Strange (and infuriating) Word 2003 problem

As the title suggests, this is driving me nuts  Say im typing away in Word 2003, and half way down the first page I decide to make a bulleted list. So ill make a new line, and click the Bullet List button, and instead of just bulleting the current line, it will convert the ENTIRE document...
