the solution was actually quite simpel
Both disks showed up in the registry in
hklm\system\controlset(and controlset001 and controlset002)\control\sessionmanager\dos devices
removed both entries, disks are gone!
Thanks for all the suggestions anyway!
and when I try to remove the systemprotection for these last two I get this:
An unexpexted failure in the propertiespage has occurred
The syntaxis of the filename, mapname of volumename is wrong (0x8007007b)
close the propertiespage and try again
when I hit cancel, the drives are gone...
Found it; There are 3 "C disks", one system disk (where I have installed windows) and two other with the comments: (c) "Fail" (lack?) and "enabled"
I cannot remove these last two.
See attachment
Thanks for your suggestion. I reconnected the drives, loaded a command prompt, types diskpart and then list volumes .... see attachment for the result....
Tried this, thing is these disk are ext3 formatted to use with Linksys NSLU2. To see these disks in Win7 I had to install a driver. When I reinstalled this driver yesterday I could not assign the driveletters L and U because they are already in use...
Good tip, hadn't thought of this yet. But .. did it like you said, removed all the items in devicemanager that might point to the two local disks, rebooted ... they are still there....:devious:
I already looked in the entries but did not find the drivernames there. Will try to delete the entries, see what will happen...
Update: deleted the entries, rebooted, the disks are still there....

Now I cannot remove these references to these disks, so even though the disks are no longer attached...
can you get the mac adresses of the pc's? Then you can, when you set up both routers with one of the two routers as a repeater with a different lan address (fi 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1), shut either pc out from either network by using the mac lists in the routers.
Well, at least I would try...
