Try to set winrar to work without the context menu for a few re-boots. Then set it to work with the context menu and see what happens. If that dosn't work check the registry and see if it correctly shows winrar as the program that is to work with rar files.

Try using sfc /scannow...it will check that you have the original files.

Go to Internet options...programs...at the bottom you can change whether IE checks if it is the default browser.

I finally fixed this by doing a re-install over my XP files. Works fine now.

I've seen a couple of freeware programs that do it but I can't remember the names. Do a search on Google.

Go to Internet Options-connections-Lan settings-and uncheck Automatically detect settings then try updating. Remember to re-check the box when you are done.

Change the margins in whatever app you are using. I also hate the small icons when I change screen resolution. Hope to get my new 21" monitor any time now. :-]

Try task manager and see if it shows anything strange. Make a new tool bar and use it for the task bar. Good luck.

Re-connect the printer and see if plug & play picks it up.

Well it's either the drive or the copy of win98. Try putting another OS like Win95 on the disk and see if that works. If it does it's the copy of Win98 that's bad. If it doesn't work the drive is screwed.
