    Avoid kit kat for now

What phone do you have, and are you running a stock carrier build, or custom ROM? If custom, they can vary widely from ROM to ROM. Also, kernel can sometimes make a difference with battery life.

    Constant "Not Responding" lag!

Just a few shots in the dark, but I see that your BIOS is the the version that came with your motherboard. The update after that states that it was for "Improve system compatibility" (whatever that might have fixed). I would also read up (check their official forums: Official GIGABYTE Forum -...

    7zip

I know the thread resurrection was done by a spam bot most likely, but thought I would throw in a recommendation on the off chance someone other then a bot reads this. =) I use PeaZip [peazip.sourceforge.net] because it covers most every type of file and it's cross platform (and free).

News Windows 8 Pro costs $40 if you're running XP, Vista, or 7

I thought I had read not to long ago that they were allowing people to upgrade ONLY from Windows 7. I guess they must have looked at the numbers and saw more XP then 7 users.

News Apple CEO on friending Facebook, educating Siri and killing Ping

Everyone knew Ping was DOA from the start, and I could care less about Siri. My interest is in why Apple would want to get mixed up with a sinker like Facebook when everyone sees it's downfall in the distant future. Apple was an innovator, they didn't get with companies on their way out. I fear...

    News Apple releases Flashback fix

They need to remove Java from default install. :) Also much of the trouble come from them making their own Java VM instead of leaving it up to Sun (now Oracle) to take care of. So many Java exploits ... not a headache I would think Apple would want. Probably to late now to try and get Oracle to...

News Windows 8 Consumer Preview Available

Though a bit odd, from the bit I've messed with it in the VM I think the UI is nicer then 7 (a step backwards from XP IMHO). I'm not sold on it though, and why I will continue to only use Windows only in a VM. :)
