Re: Little Snitch
Depends on your uses. If you want your email, allow Mail... if you want to surf allow Safari, if you want to have your Mac set the time for you, allow NTPd, etc.
At the end of the day if you yank...

Re: Has your Mac ever crashed on you?
First Mac I ever owned, Internet Explorer crashed on me... will always remember that.
As for more recent escapades though, Logic 9 keeps crashing on me because I have an old version of Predator...

Re: Little Snitch
I guess in theory it's Ok to disable absolutely everything... then re-create the rules as you go along, deciding what you want to allow external access.

Re: MSN Video Player launches in the UK
Quite like this new service, some classics on there. Only thing which annoys me is the volume of the adverts, trying to subtly watch something doesn't work too well when the sodding direct line...

Re: All in one unarchiver?
Thirdededed, however sometimes I have to resort to the official command line un-rar utility, as The Unarchiver can't handle a particular batch of .rar files I throw at it... though that's a very rare...

Re: Growl and Adium?
Don't think I could use a Mac without Growl these days, very customisable, and you can choose what apps alert you and what for. You can even send the notifications to another mac on your network.

Re: Replace DVD drive for Mac Pro (intel)
Many of pioneer's drives will work, I used to have an un-supported drive in my old PowerMac G4, it worked via a little software hack (The name eludes me), however Apple eventually added the drive to...

Re: SilverLight Mac OS X crashes
I couldn't put the problems on it exactly, but I had quite a few kernel panics whilst running it. I tried disconnecting all my USB goodies, not running certain apps, but I always seemed to get KP's...

Re: Windows 7 Public Beta Download
Gave up on Microsoft this morning, download started out at about 1.14MB/s, then slowly died. Yoinked a torrent from TPB, downloading steadily ever since.
Just managed to get a key too, the site...

Re: Quick, unfriend 10 people on Facebook!
Genius bit of marketing. However what's to stop you deleting 10 friends/people, getting the coupon, then re-adding them? ... or even adding 10 strangers before adding the BK app? :D

Re: SilverLight Mac OS X crashes
I installed SilverLight when it was first announced, hadn't found any use for it though, so got rid.
Only site I know of that uses it, is the ITV (UK TV Channel) web player, and I have no real urge...

Re: Run Linux applications on OS X.
GUI based apps look like wibbling piles of excrement, however there are quite a few handy CLI tools/apps out there. A selection of my "port installed" looks like so:
aria2
id3v2
irssi
mp3splt...

Re: Linux on the iPhone!
I think it will remain "meh". I really can't see the point of putting a full blown Linux OS onto the iPhone when 1. the existing OS is rather awesomes, and 2. there are other lumps of hardware out...

irssi is quite clearly the best client EVAR! :D
In reference to Lord's post, he posted what WINE stands for, it's an acronym. I would imagine he is already knowledgeable on the subject ;)

Re: iPhone Jailbreak?
Unlocking a phone isn't illegal. It just may go against the contract or EULA you have with your provider. You own the hardware after-all.
