Default WM6 Ringtones
I'm looking at audacity, and Windows Media Encoder. I have created a few mp3 and wma ringtones but they are too soft. I'm looking for setting to create loud enough mp3 or wma ringtones.

Anyone with any experience...reps will fly!!!

Normalize them to 100%? I'm not familiar with those programs. Does audacity show you the sound wave so you can see the amplitude levels?

yes it does, it's very strange they sound fine on my computer but after transferring to my windows mobile 6 phone they sound very soft.

They are coming from 160 kbps mp3 files...I'm baffled.

Here is howto to make loud ringtones

Or try http://makeownringtone.com
It allows you to make your own ringtones from your mp3's and add effects (it makes loud ringtones by default).

since WM6 like wma, what I did was trim pieces in audacity and convert to wma with wm encoder.
