^ cnet has a nice little article/video there that tells u how to replace ur battery And you can find different replacements online. I think i might get the battery from PDAsmart because its 950mAh and supposedly 50% more than the original. well i just thought i'd share that info with u guys

after watching that I looked at my ipod 4g 20gb and I can't the place to pull the metal off...I'm not actually going to do it but just in case the battery ever needs to be replaced...no way in hell will I send my ipod in to get the battery replaced.

that vid is only for the 1G and 2G models, just looking at the 4G I cant see how the metal backing is going to come off either, thats one of the things I have noticed about the three pieces of apple hardware which I have (iPod, iBook, iSight) is that from just looking at them it is very hard to see how they would really come apart easily.
