yeah, vga and tv signals are completely different. to have something convert one signal to the other in real time isn't a simple task. i'd say $100 is an okay deal.

most laptops you cant change the video card for because they are compleatly built in

in some very few cases it's possible. like if your laptop had 2 different choices of video adapter, and you chose the cheaper of the 2, it might be possible to buy the better one and 'swap' it out.
easier said than done, though. first you'd have to find one for sale. then either tackle the installation part yourself or try to find a professional that would be willing to do it. |

the yellow, red and white are the vga right?? cause i have a toshiba laptop with the yellow tv-out connector on the back and all i have to do is just connect it to the yellow connector on the tv and another cable for the audio and im done, and the picture quality is pretty good too.
