if anyone has recently heard or bought the demo of guild wars congrats to you. I just recently played it on my box and it is hands down the greatest rpg ever..picture diablo 2 with a mixture of final fantasy..

played in 2 of the beta events....the game would have been good if the environments weren't so linear (just seems restrictive) and if you didn't have the option to start a char maxed out at lvl 20 from the start. (hoping starting a maxed char was just a beta thing)

I personally didn't like it much. It was just so ... ordinary. I played it over a weekend some time back in one of their weekend long stress tests.

Patches? ... I think you mean expansions. Pretty ridiculous to have to pay for patches.

A free game with paid expansions doesn't seem so bad, from both a player and business standpoint.

I played in the last weekend event, thought it was alright. Probally alot funner if your playing with friends. I have a few friends that pre-ordered it, so I might play it, also since it doesnt cost monthly.
