Ya know? If you would have just had this contest for the regular members and not allow noobs to enter it; things would be diff. I can see wanting to get new member, but I think this is a wrong way to do it. Hopefully the next one will be different.

I know but someone here posted that their fish kept dying but they weren't sure whether or not it was because of the way they cleaned/fed their fish tank.

Well I found another Oscar Cichlid on Google Images and this is how it looks. So you're right that other Oscar Cichlid must be unhealthy! It was probably not fed/taken care of properly by it's owner.
