Actually, if you're good with your searching ability, jkontherun had a particular post that gave a status of the total number of posts and comments they had up till that date.. it was a little bit dated, but not by too much

edit: managed to find all the answers for jkontherun's contest in about 30-45 minutes total. That time is just an estimation - I didn't do it all in one continuous block.. picked and pecked with different search queries every once in a while over the course of the day.
