I think I had some virus or have been hacked. . .my PC was doing strange things. I had noticed my Zone Alarm was off. . .and my XP firewall off. How much control/damage can someone do to my PC?. . .call me paranoid, but I noticed a lot of activity, etc. w/o my use and things were changing...

I reinstalled XP and partitioned my drive. Due to my mistake, I had to make a partition on the remaining space after I initially only made one partition. Anyways, now I have a OS choice screen on boot, one being for my blank, non-OS having space. How can I get rid of this? Thanks! p

Yes, the connection is fine for me. As for installing, I don't remember the option to make available for all an option when installing. Can I do that now, to see if that's the problem? p

When I attempt to set up another user on my PC, the Internet connection is unavailable. The Linksys Wireless icon shows no signal from the base. How can I set it up so the other users can access the internet, etc.? Thanks! p

Whenever I close Outlook, Outlook.exe remains as a running process. If I open and close it 5 times, there will be 5 Outlook.exe running that I have to end. What is up w/ this? How can I fix it? I also noticed that I have 5 svchost.exe running. 3 under system, 1 under local service, 1...

Is there a way to find out where a program is caching its files? I was using XNews to download files. . .it caches the files, then purges them when they are stored. I don't like not knowing where it stored them. Thanks, p

How does an application know it has been previously installed. I tried a 30-day trial period of a program about 1 year ago. I didn't like it. The new version won't let me try it. . .it says my 30 days are up. What can I do to fix this? Thanks! p

Well, I think I just discovered the problem. . .there might be a loose solder joint or something on the internal antenna connection. . . p

The last few days, my wireless card (WMP11) has had a significant loss of signal. When I check the signal, it sometimes dips to 47%. . .and it keeps varying, w/ it's highest (rarely) at 87%. The signal was usually at least 93% and most of the time at 100%. The thing is, I am only 15 feet from...
