Nope, those ads are gone. I think they removed them in 8.5 (maybe earlier, not sure)

    WMP11 Beta For XP Released

Re: WMP11 For XP Release Announced I'm just curious as to whether or not anyone has noticed the process wmplayer.exe spiking processor usage to use whatever is available at random intervals? It happens only sporadically. Given that for the most part the usage usually bounces between 3% -...

    Windows XP Bliss wallpapers

Great find. :) I think I'll just use HTTrack at work to just get them now and sort later. :p EDIT: Not surprisingly, I only kept 27 out of the many hundreds that were downloaded. -_-

    ZoneAlarm, ICS, and Crossover

I have two machines directly connected using a crossover cable. I can share files fine between them and ping each of them from the other. I am using dialup for the time being, and cannot get the client to access the internet. The connection on the host machine is shared, ICS is enabled, and...

    ZA Identifies AIM as "logger"

Yeah your theory about MSN makes sense, it's probably true. As for AIM, what about using encryption? I know one of my buddies had it for awhile but now it's gone. Funny it disappeared around the same time as that blog article appeared.

    ZA Identifies AIM as "logger"

Then I guess MSN did it too... So if I deny access to them, they shouldn't see it? It's not like I have anything to hide or am paranoid, but it's just interesting to me... :dead: Thanks for the link. :)

    ZA Identifies AIM as "logger"

Just got the update for ZA, v6 with AntiSpyware. When I started AIM (5.2) an alert popped up saying something similar to "AOL Instant Messenger is trying to monitor your keystrokes and mouse movements". Is this just a "fluke" or something to be concerned about? Anyway, I denied it access...

    Processor losing MHz?

I think it may be the motherboard, and this is the last time I'm going to bring up my processor speed, I swear, lol... Reason being, the CPU Voltage & Frequency chart in my motherboards (AOpen MK77MII) has some core frequencies to the thousandths decimal (x.xxx) but most of them just go to...

    Processor losing MHz?

I've just gotten another "clue". Maybe it's motherboard related? My system clock is 133 MHz, and my multiplier is set at 11.5. (clock * multiplier = speed) so it comes out to 1529.5, exactly what all my programs say. I know when I increase system clock speed (motherboard has 1MHz...

    March Desktops

Thanks...that wallpaper seems to go with the VS best in my opinion. I like to just keep the "essentials" on my desktop, everything I need is in the Quick Launch and My Music toolbars. ;)

    Processor losing MHz?

Yeah I figured, but why does my BIOS and the spec sheet label it as 1533 MHz? Why not 1529 and just say its 1.53 GHz? Oh well. It's not like 4 MHz makes a whole lot of difference, I was just curious. :)

    Processor losing MHz?

My operating system is Windows XP Home SP1. The processor I'm using is an AMD Athlon XP 1800+ on a mobo with a VIA KM266 chipset. The spec sheet for my processor says that it's clock speed is 1533 MHz. When I right click My Computer, it says 1.53 GHz along with my 512 MB RAM. However, when I...
