    That comes out to running it 32 hours a day. Figure 6 hours a day and you get 27 years. I'm currently running my Panasonic at 40% brightness anyway. Figure I'll have to up it a bit in a quarter of a century.:)

    For what it's worth that's not the case, although the specs allude to similiar speeds. Plus USB drives tax the cpu much more. A Firewire drive will usually run at least 25% faster than USB2.

    I bet you can't solve this one

    Start over with a clean XP only install. Why troubleshoot an inferior install? Windows is twitchy enough as it is, a good foundation, free of any W98 registry remnants and overwritten W98 drivers, is the only way to go.
