True, it is cable. Further, it is now, and has been for quite a while, just called Roger High Speed (cough, hack ... sic). Just plug your cable from the modem into your router, then into your NIC, and away you go. Make sure you are running the latest firmwire for your router.

Iris Network Traffic Analyzer is exactly what I need. However, when the buffer is full, and is now in decode mode, the proggie will zoom to 100% CPU and stay there. So, I am looking for an alternative to this. TKS

Don't know what manuals you have been reading, but, they are wrong (as you know now). Completely so. Install works like so, latest OS goes on last. File system matters not, unless, you are installing DOS, which needs to be installed somewhere within the first gig of the HD. So, 9x first on...
