If you put it on wheels, you don't have to push so hard. :P Got the spining ball of doom, accessing a data base. The other time another Mac tried to use the same node, I lost the Mac totally and had reboot the G5 to reconcile a dffferent node.

this was a case of, i couldn't do anything no spinning ball, couldn't move the mouse, sound was all messed up. Had to do a forced shut-down/reboot

I thought you had a kernel panic, Mac version of BSOD (only had like 1 I think in like 5yrs or so and I did something dumb to cause it I think).

So what do to cause your lockup? Also never hurts to repair permissions if your having issues.

i was doing a 3d picture, adding lights and such and had a movie on in the background using mplayer, then the system just completly locked, sound went weird, could'nt move mouse, after i rebooted i did a disc check and permissions check, both said everything was fine

First Mac I ever owned, Internet Explorer crashed on me... will always remember that.

As for more recent escapades though, Logic 9 keeps crashing on me because I have an old version of Predator FX installed which doesn't agree with Snow Lepper 100%, maybe about 76%.

Also have had many KP's back on the old iBook G4 from using unsupported kernel extensions to drive the internal wireless card to run it in passive mode.
