Default Open Source Mac

Open Source Mac is a site that lists the best, free, open-source software for OS X. There are so many free apps out there that it's difficult to know which are better without having to try them all yourself. This site makes finding the best software just a bit easier.

Good site, know about most the software on there from browsing sites such as macupdate and versiontracker though.

Don't agree with all of their choices, but it's a good place to start for newcomers to the platform

Sweet! That's a great gift (in my somewhat-biased opinion).

well, it's the first mac ever for either of us. I've spent most of my life in the windows world but she just graduated and is going on to teaching in high school - most schools tend to be apple centric, thus the need to purchase a mac.

In a way, it's good for me too since my macOS skills have declined signficantly over the last 10 years. Last time I used any MacOS for my work was back in OS8 days when I worked for a publishing company.. all their designers used macs and all their finance people used winTel..
