Default Disk Space

Just wondering, how much storage space does the base installation of OSX take up?

Read the first questions thread thingie that is stickied at the top of the page in this category.

There is some indescrepency, but it should be no more than 4 GB if you add the coding tools like Xcode and whatnot. Also, possibly removing some of the free apps that come with your install, might clear it up just a bit.

2.0GB, 3.5GB if you install all the developer tools. I'm sure it's all in the documentation that comes with OSX when you buy it

I use 1 GB for music, 5 GB for iPhoto and the rest is documents and random crud i have lying around. It leaves me with 15 GB out of the 30 GB with a swap of 4 GB.
