There are plenty. Checkout www.versiontracker.com or www.macupdate.com for software. You could also use Download.com, but I prefer Version Tracker.

^What reg said. Version Tracker and Mac Update are your friends.
But to list some of the things I use.. http://www.cosmos.ne.jp/~kaz6120/ - ported apps, such as Wget and a cocoa front end. http://xchataqua.sourceforge.net/ - IRC client based on X-Chat http://www.rbrowser.com/RBrowserLite/ - FTP Client http://gottsilla.net/ - P2P Client uses the KaZaAaAaAaA network http://videolan.org/ - The daddy-o of video playing ![]() http://www.ittpoi.com/ - lots of small apps, some aren't free. http://www.projectomega.org/subcat.p...ts_firestarter - CD Burner that supports .bin/.cue \o/ It's hard to just list a load of apps, if you tell us what function you're after (ie: FTP, Media Player...etc) then we can give you some suggestions

Web browsers - Safari is the native web browser on OS X, and it uses the KHTML rendering engine. You can also use the Mac version of Firefox if you like.

Some strange people like OmniWeb, (http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omniweb/) I see no point when Apple's native browser does an excellent job and (of course) for free.
As for Media, Mac OSX comes with iTunes (and is available for OS9, to my knowledge) which plays music, some formats aren't natively supported, however can be added via the relevant libraries. For video media, there's QuickTime which can play all your video's including DivX etc with the right codecs. For media that QuickTime can't play there's VLC which I mentioned in my last post, everyone that I know uses it. Also MPlayer is a nice VLC alternative (http://mplayerosx.sourceforge.net/) |

I use themechanger to change mine (http://themechanger.sourceforge.net/)
There is also ShapeShifter (http://www.unsanity.com/panther.php) but it's not free. Themes are available from: http://www.resexcellence.com/themes/ http://swizcore.com/SS/macOSX.php http://www.maxthemes.com/ http://www.621.org/~carbon/ http://members.cox.net/damac519/themes.html http://nowhere.ambitiouslemon.com/ http://www.bbxstudio.com/ |

My site's were originally made on windows in notepad. They're now maintained using TextEdit on Mac OS.

I just use Safari's download manager. It supports resuming etc, so there's no need for an external application.
I do use wget from time to time, which is a command line tool, available from here: http://www.cosmos.ne.jp/~kaz6120/ |
