Default Facebook Account Deletion

I just went to delete my account, and at the bottom of the whole options and such it says

"You can reactivate your account at any time by logging in with your email and password."

That means my account is really still there and people can see it and so on. What the hell kind of crap is that, I want my account GONE, pictures and everything GONE. How do I do that, do I need to contact them or are they just a bunch of dum****s?

Looks like you can only deactivate the account.
You want to leave Facebook? Really? How else are you going to spend your time? Well, if you really want to leave you can deactivate your account from the "Settings" tab of the Account page.

Deactivation will completely remove your profile and all associated content on your account from Facebook. In addition, users will not be able to search for you or view any of your information. If you reactivate your account, your profile will be restored in its entirety (friends, photos, interests, etc.).

Well, it's a bitch to completely delete it.

You have to first manually delete everything from your account. All apps, friends, photos, etc.

Then you have to ask them via email to delete your account.

At least that's the way I've read a couple times online.

Bank accounts are the same, by the way. They never close them. If you close an account but for some reason it gets a charge, or a bill, you'll still have to pay it, even though you closed it.

Go back into Facebook and delete all your stuff manually. Then go in and "update" your personal info. Change your name then the next day change your e-mail (with some throw away e-mail account you've just created ), change your pic (if you have one listed) and so on. I don't know what is placed in your info (if anything) so I am guessing at all this. Then cancel/close your Facebook account.

And please get rid of them videos.

PG&E, too.

I ended up "reactivating" my account with the power company rather than opening a new one. I'm curious to see what happens with the cable folks, now.

Well I ended up contacting Facebook and explaining what I wanted done. Which was my account totally removed. They came back explaining why they keep data and all that good stuff. They said though if you remove all contacts, pictures, apps, notes, etc etc and make it look like a new account they can remove the account and email from there servers.

Now I wrote back saying you know there is no delete all for messages or friends or anything. All they say is we don't have that feature sorry. So I took 3 hours removing contacts and wall posts and everything else, emailed them back. And now my account is 100% gone. Well there is something with them, but no details or anything related me anyway.

A lot of work to remove a stupid account eh, geez.
